Christian Dorrer is an attorney-at-law and Head of the Dispute Resolution practice at rk partners. He is a specialist in litigation and advises clients on all aspects of civil, commercial, and business law, with a particular focus on complex and cross-border disputes.
His practice covers representation in court and arbitration proceedings across a wide range of legal fields. He has extensive experience in corporate disputes as well as commercial and contractual conflicts with both domestic and international dimensions. In addition, he frequently represents clients in matters relating to banking and finance law, as well as in insolvency-related proceedings – particularly in the defence and enforcement of claims arising in distressed corporate structures or restructuring scenarios.
A key focus of Christian’s work lies in international arbitration. He has significant experience in commercial and investment arbitration under the rules of all major institutions, including VIAC, ICC, SIAC, FIAC, HKIAC, ICSID, and UNCITRAL.
Christian is also regularly involved in enforcement proceedings, acting both in the enforcement and the challenge of foreign court judgments and arbitral awards. He has particular expertise in matters with sanctions-related or geopolitical sensitivity, especially in cases involving links to Russia or Ukraine where questions of public international law, EU sanctions regulations, and ordre public are central elements.
Another important area of his practice is product liability, where he advises and represents manufacturers and distributors in national and international disputes. His work spans preventive risk assessment as well as the defence of complex litigation frequently involving multinational elements and technical expert evidence.
Christian further advises and represents clients in real estate and construction law, particularly developers and project sponsors in project-related disputes, and in foundation law, where he draws on extensive experience in handling internal conflicts and governance issues.
He studied law at the University of Vienna and regularly publishes on current topics in business law, international arbitration, and sanctions law.
